Lekki Port celebrated World Environment Day 2024, themed “Our Land, Our Future,” by planting 200 coconut trees in Itoke community towards land restoration and combating the challenges of climate change. The event underlined the importance of ecological sustainability and community involvement. The initiative highlights our commitment to environmental stewardship and the economic and ecological value of coconut trees to the environment as natural erosion barriers and sources of various valuable products like fibres, coir, and medicinal ingredients.
