Lekki Port Wraps Up Lagos International Maritime Week 2024 with Insights and Innovation
Lekki Port was one of the participants at the Lagos International Maritime Week 2024, themed “Navigating the Future of Africa’s Marine & Blue Economy—Safety First,” which provided industry leaders, stakeholders, and experts with a platform to collaborate on driving progress in marine safety and the blue economy.
Our Chief Operating Officer, Laurence Smith, delivered a keynote address on sustainable infrastructure and the critical role of ports in facilitating global trade. He stated that “the future of global trade depends on ports that are not only efficient but also resilient and safe. At Lekki Port, we are building a blueprint for sustainable growth that prioritises the safety of our operations and supports Africa’s maritime aspirations.”
On the final day, delegates and participants were treated to an exclusive tour of Lekki Port by Zoe Maritime Resources Limited, organisers of Lagos International Maritime Week, where they had firsthand experience of our world-class facilities and advanced infrastructure that positions Lekki Port as a pivotal player in the region’s maritime landscape.
Our active participation in the sessions reaffirmed Lekki Port’s role as a key player in the global supply chain, dedicated to enhancing the efficiency of trade flows, supporting economic growth across the region, and prioritising safety in all operations.
