On May 7th 2025, the Managing Director/CEO of Lekki Port, Mr. Wang Qiang, led a delegation of key team members on a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) in Apapa. The visit aimed to deepen strategic engagement, strengthen collaboration, and advance shared goals for improving Nigeria’s maritime sector.
The Lekki Port delegation was warmly received by the Executive Secretary/CEO of the NSC, Dr. Akutah Pius Ukeyima, MON, along with members of the Council’s leadership. The meeting provided a platform for both parties to explore areas of mutual interest, including enhancing operational efficiency, strengthening regulatory frameworks, and leveraging innovation to bolster Nigeria’s competitiveness as a regional trade and logistics hub.
Dr. Akutah praised Lekki Port for its cutting-edge infrastructure and its role in decongesting trade corridors, facilitating seamless cargo movement, and enhancing Nigeria’s position in global maritime commerce.
In his remarks, Mr. Wang Qiang reaffirmed Lekki Port’s commitment to international maritime best practices, stating, “Our engagement with the Nigerian Shippers’ Council underscores our commitment to driving world-class maritime standards in Nigeria.
